Why Are We Here?
"We believe that the youth is one of the most vulnerable sectors when conflicts arise. So it is only right that we also stand and use our voice, gifts, and enthusiasm to help resolve these conflicts."Youth for Peace Movement Davao de Oro (YFPMDDO) is a Civil Society Organization (CSO) that advocates Peace and Development in the province through youth empowerment. We were founded on November 8, 2014, during the Election of our first Federation Officers held in Maco, Davao de Oro (formerly Compostela Valley).
Born out of the need to create an organization that would advocate peace all-over the Province, covering the municipalities of Pantukan, Mabini, Maco, Mawab, Nabunturan, Laak, Montevista, Monkayo, Compostela, New Bataan, and Maragusan, we became part of the national youth movement called Youth for Peace and Development Movement Philippines (YFPDMP) that is partnering with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Local Government Units to implement significant programs that will help the youth who are vulnerable to the recruitment of lawless armed groups in the country. We are also under the Youth for Peace Movement TALBOS (YFPMT), our regional chapter.
