Mabini, CVP – A total of 117 student leaders composed of SSG officers, general club officers and classroom presidents of Mabini National High School (NHS) actively participated during the launching of the 1st Campus Peace Symposium (CPS) at the school’s activity center last September 4, 2017.
The simultaneous province-wide in-school event with the theme "Kabataang mag-aaral, makiisa sa usaping pangkapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran ng ComVal" was launched in Mabini NHS by the YFPM-SSG ComVal through the assistance of Mrs. Aurora Blanche Nadela, SSG Adviser, and SSG officers of the school.
Erol E. Ceniza Jr., SSG Mabini, and Comval Federation President said that the CPS aims to empower student leaders as advocate and conduits of peace and development. He also said that it will help the students develop their capabilities in building a culture of peace by getting to know the different levels of peace. “Students should join such event to somehow help them understand inner peace and exercising peace towards dealing with other people," Ceniza added.
The CPS covers lectures, workshops, and activities regarding peace which was shared by the Philippine Army, SSG and Youth Peace Table Core Group with the support of the Provincial Government of Compostela Valley, 1001st Infantry Brigade, and Department of Education Division of Comval.
"Your cooperation and participation in this activity are highly appreciated. Thank you very much for your contribution to the success of this event," Mrs. Nadela uttered.
As a result of this symposium, the student leaders were anticipated to come up with an action plan out of the issues they identified concerning peace in their school.
