The participants, who were mostly consisted of youth leaders, came from sectoral organizations of Indigenous Peoples, Muslim, Christian, Out-of-School, In-School, and Youth Task Force.

The Peace Camp was conducted through the partnership of Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) Maco, LGU of Maco, 46th and 71st Infantry Battalions, APEX Mining Company, and other NGAs and Private Agencies.

With the theme "BULAWANONG KABATAN-UNAN: Strengthening Leadership Foundations, Transforming Youth Peace Builders," the Peace Camp aims to nurture, empower, and awaken the participants through various lectures, challenges, and workshops to strengthen their leadership skills, test their physical and mental abilities, show-out their talents, and transform them into young peace advocates who will continue the legacy of Youth for Peace Volunteers in the Municipality of Maco.
The camp was formally opened by the new Commander of 1001st Infantry Brigade, Colonel Erwin Bernard L. Neri.

Both Ms. Janice Clarion, Provincial Youth Development Officer of Compostela Valley, and Ms. Lesly Ann Bangoy, former National President of Youth for Peace Philippines, also attended the camp by sharing their expertise on Youth Volunteerism and Heroic Leadership.

The participants were also trained in working with a team and taking steps to advocate peace by avoiding conflict and uniting with other groups.

An action planning workshop was likewise conducted to involve the participants in peacebuilding by identifying youth issues in their communities and finding solutions to such by helping the LGU in community organizing.

The Maco Peace Camp culminated through a ceremony graced by Vice Mayor Arthur Carlos Voltaire Rimando. He congratulated the new batch of young peace advocates of their life's new milestone and committed to conducting another camp next year to continually train peace-advocate leaders.
