The 2-day training was accordingly conducted by the organization to establish regular youth trainers who will take charge in the facilitation of Youth Leadership Summits (YLS) in the different municipalities of Comval, by instilling them the basic facilitation techniques and values of an effective trainer.
Various lectures and workshops happened during the training. Ms. Avon Sinajon, an active national youth leader from Panabo City and an expert in facilitation served as the over-all Resource Speaker and Facilitator. During the night session, visitors from the Destiny Church Davao led by Ptr. Mardean Malinao tackled the spiritual aspect of leadership by sharing the values of a Servant Leader according to the word of God. They also engaged with the participants afterward in a small group discussion to listen and connect their personal lives with the Lord.
Meanwhile, the 1001st Infantry Brigade has also supported the activity by providing the venue, technical and financial assistance.
On the other hand, Mr. Bren Cabatingan, the President of YFPM Comval reminded the participants of their significance as youth trainers and facilitators of YLS.
"You are the frontline of our organization's purpose which is to empower the youth through YLS. Now that you are officially part of our core of facilitators, you need to set yourselves as a standard and model of what an empowered peace advocate should be," said Cabatingan.
He also highlighted the importance of their actions in promoting the organization.
"It is through your actions that our participants could glance first what our organization is and what it could offer them when they join. Always put it in your heart and mind that first impression lasts," he added.
