GK Maragusan kids experience Christmas spirit

MARAGUSAN, CVP - Despite hectic schedules, the Youth for Peace Movement Maragusan was able to share the spirit of Christmas to the children of Gawad Kalinga in Barangay New Katipunan here through the "A Peace of Happiness (APOH)" on December 21, 2018.

The said community outreach program aims to give back to the community, share love, promote peace, and uphold the true essence of Christmas through fun-filled activities, and gift giving.

The program started around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and formally opened by Corporal Jonald Portacio. It was followed by the messages of Hon. Florencio Rosalinda, Punong Barangay of New Katipunan and some of his council members.

With the assistance of the YFP officers and members, the fun and games took place afterward. The children played stop dance, paper racing, lemon relay, and many more.

But the fun didn't end there. The officers and members of YFPM Maragusan also performed a dance number with the special participation of their military partners.

After all the games and activities, the beneficiaries including their parents also shared together the special "champorado" prepared by the organization.

The highlight of the event was the gift-giving led by Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairperson of New Katipunan, Mr. Rolly Andicoy.

It was then closed by the YFPM Maragusan President, Mr. Neil Mark Reopa.

The 1st APOH in Maragusan was made possible through the assistance of Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, Provincial and Municipal Youth Development Offices, Local Government Unit of Maragusan, Maragusan SK Federation, Youth for Peace Movement, and the Bravo Company of 66th Infantry Battalion.
