"No rain, no rough roads can defeat a volunteer's heart"

MABINI, CVP - Developing the children by delivering their basic needs drove the Youth for Peace Movement Mabini to conduct the 'A Peace of Happiness' on December 16, 2018, at the Manasa Elementary School, Sitio Manasa, Brgy. Anitapan here.

The project was part of the organization's peacebuilding advocacy that aims to bring genuine happiness among children in far-flung communities.

One tube of ice cream, 120 slices of cakes, 110 apples, 108 school supplies, and 107 slippers were some of the supplies and snacks enjoyed by the 106 student-beneficiaries of the school.

A total of 15 youth led by Ms. Cristy Fannie Bonotan, the Municipal President of YFPM Mabini likewise volunteered to conduct the activity.

One volunteer said that although a journey for almost four hours from Mabini to Brgy. Anitapan, a heavy rainfall, and cold and foggy weather challenged them, they were not hindered to cancel the activity and instead motivated them to bring the gifts and to put their endeavor into realization.

Heading to Manasa Elementary School, the bumpy and slippery road also added to their obstacles while riding a 'habal-habal' motorcycle.

Meanwhile, the Punong Barangay of Manasa, Hon. Medardo Baclaan, expressed his deepest gratitude to the organization and emphasize the value of Christmas.

"Sama ni Kristo (nga) niabot sa kalibutan, kita usab muhatag," he said.

The activity was also made possible through the support of Hon. Jayvee Tyron Uy, Congressman Ruwel Peter Gonzaga, Hon. Carlos Suarez, Hon. Shirley Ann Suarez, Hon. Asalain Pilarito Buntag, Mr. Ronald Dohinog, Dr. Gazmen, SSG of Mabini National High School, Ms. Jaliant Mica Encontro, and Hon. Carl Pajaron.
