Kickstarting 2020: YFPM Davao de Oro Engages Peace Council

NABUNTURAN, DDO - The Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) Comval (now Davao de Oro) took its first engagement in 2020 as a representative of the youth sector in the joint Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC)-Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC)-and the Provincial Development Council (PDC) Meeting on January 13, 2020, at the Provincial Capitol here.

Ms. Bernadette Festin, the newly-elected President of the organization attended the event. She was also able to personally introduce herself to the organization's peace partners and lay down some of YFPM Comval's plans this year.

Present also was Gov. Jayvee Tyron L. Uy being the Chairman of the three Councils; Mr. Noel C. Duarte of DILG Comval; AFP, PNP, and BFP Heads; and other heads of member offices.

It can be recalled that the YFPM Comval has been recognized by the PPOC with the help of Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy as one of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) members of the council since last year.

"As the new year starts, YFPM Comval is determined to genuinely represent the voice of the youth in the provincial peace table to provide more avenues that will protect them from armed struggle and recruitment," said Ms. Festin.
