NEW BATAAN, DDO - Being the representative of the youth in the government, the Sangguniang Kabataan Municipal Federation (SK) of New Bataan has invited the Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) New Bataan to attend its 1st Monthly Meeting for the year 2020 on January 31, 2020, at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall here.
During the meeting, the YFPM New Bataan officers presented their 2020 Municipal Action Plan to the Municipal SK Council headed by Hon. John Clyde Manabit. They also proposed to partner with the SK in implementing their Barangay Peace Symposium (BPS) Project.
The BPS is a community-based symposium that will directly educate the youth in grassroots communities on the values of peace, aware of the negative effects of joining the armed struggle, and empower them as peace-builders who will help address the root causes of conflict in their own community.
In his statement, Hon. Manabit expressed his support to the YFPM New Bataan, especially in its upcoming peace project together with the SK.
"The SK of New Bataan will always find a way to support when it comes to empowering the youth in our municipality through peace," he said.
