In the celebration of the 124th Philippine Independence Day, the YFPMDdO and its partners, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) of Davao de Oro, Serbisyo Oro Mismo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Davao de Oro, aimed to inform, inspire, and engaged the youth out there about the manipulations that the CPP-NPA-NDF can induce them with.
The talk show was hosted by Ms. Ruchel Jane Magallanes, a Peace Communication Unit of the YFPMDdO, that formally introduced Ms. Ariane Jane Ramos “Ka Marikit” on the show.
Ms. Ramos started her story with how peaceful the night was and suddenly was shocked by her rescuers, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), which undoubtedly changed the chapters of her life.
She narrated her stories and experiences that pinched the heart of the audience. How she managed to survive even though it was heartbreaking to know that what she was fighting for during her days in the CPP-NPA-NDF was for nothing and that she was only manipulated by joining the armed struggle.
It is still in her stance to help the society from the corrupt system in the country, now it is in her mission as she has redeemed herself and learned a lot from her mistakes, to still be in the service and help together with the government. “Genuine service should not be done by means of war against our countrymen it is seen by our willingness to build roads and even for others, we do not agree with" as Ms. Ramos stated and suffixed with, "Dito tayo sa gobyerno, dito natin baguhin ang gobyerno dahil sa paglubog ng araw iisa lang ang ating gustong makamit, ito ay kapayapaan, hustisya at pagkakapantay-pantay.”
The surfacing of questions from the live and virtual audiences was conducted as the last part of the talk. A Series of questions was answered by Ms. Ramos based on what she has experienced, knows, and believes. The live and virtual audiences showed their curiosity and interest by participating in the open forum.
In her last message, Ms. Ramos urged the youth to "Kung gusto gyud ta ug pag bag-o sa katilingban, diri-a nato mismo bag-ohon sa gobyerno. Kay naa diri ang mga tao nga nagatoo gyud ko nga mutabang sa atoa. Kung dili man gani sila mutabang sa atoa, muistorya ug muistorya ta ug balik. Di gyud kinahaglan na mugunit ug pusil kay wala gyud siya'y paadtuan."
